Remember our mystery picture from the last issue?

Thanks to all the long-time residents and Historical Society members who responded to our inquiries and sent old photos. We were surprised to see how much our Village has changed in the intervening 47 years.

Despite our research and investigation we are still not positive of the exact spot in town where this view of the 1965 tornado damage was taken.

It would be great to see if someone can come up with a “then and now” picture to confirm that this is a shot taken from a spot East of Dorothy Beach, showing the little island bay, with Highland Drive on the hill in the right background and the Lakeview/Island Drive bridge in the left background.
